It’s going to be a sizzling summer for golf fans! This July, the world’s best women golfers will compete to claim the prestigious UL International Crown. This biennial team match-play event showcases four players from eight countries – Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, England, Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand and the United States – competing over four days at the beautiful Merit Club in Gurnee, Illinois, July 21 — July 24, 2016.

The thrill of representing your country at a global sports event can only be matched by the elation of capturing the UL International Crown. The tournament features three days of four-ball competition and a day of singles matches on Sunday. Five of the eight countries will advance to the Sunday singles matches.

NA YEON CHOI

Following her win at a Korean LPGA Tour event as a 16-year-old amateur, Na-Yeon turned pro in 2004 at age 17. She won her first LPGA event in 2009, and has collected 7 LPGA Tour Victories, including the 2012 US Women’s Open. In 2010 she won the Vare Trophy and was leading money winner. Born in Korea, Na-Yeon is now based in Orlando, Florida. Her nickname is “NYC.”

The first LPGA full member from Mainland China, Shanshan started playing golf at the age of 10. Now the captain of the China National Olympic Golf Team, she’s had 4 LPGA career victories. The first golfer to win the “CCTV Sports Personality of the Year” Award, Shanshan is known for her positive attitude as well as her impressive golfing skills.

AZAHARA MUNOZ

The 2010 LPGA Rookie of the Year, Azahara Muñoz is one of the most compelling young golfers in the game. Azahara recorded her first LPGA Tour victory at the 2012 Sybase Match-Play Championship. Her classic style has positioned her at the forefront of the LPGA Tour, and as one of the rising stars in the sport. She graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University in 2009 with a degree in psychology.
